Porthcurno to Mousehole: Sue arrives!!!

Slept well, up early, overcast and chilli. Managed to get a cuppa tea and croissant from the campsite. 

Caught the bus to Sheffield (Cornwall), then walked a mile to Mousehole to start the walk back to Porthcurno. Mousehole is a quaint harbour village: lots of narrow ally's to explore, lively views and great eateries. 

Todays walk was a mix of terrain and landscapes. It began with a steep hill out of Mousehole before leading to a wooded path. For the next 8'ish miles we walked along narrow paths, scrambled over boulders, cliff edges, sheer drops, woodland paths, steep ascents and descents. 

By the time we started walking the sun was out, the wind reduced and the sea was much calmer. 

Arrived back at camp about 6.45'ish, time enough for a 5 minute shower (required to purchase a token which gives only 5 minutes of water!), before Sue arrives. 

Sue arrived: Greetings over, tent erected and walk to the pub: Logans Rock Inn. A bottle of wine, good food and lots of laughter: repeat for the next 3/4days! 

Comment of the day: 

Lets just get up a bit further and then we can strap it on. 

Fitbit records: 30,437 steps, 13.35 miles, and 202 flights of stairs.

    Hi Babe Pictures are beautiful as you are. Is the shoe one of yours. The weather there looks good but as Sarah has a jacket on it looks cold. Went have my eyes tested today and thank god no new glasses eyes the same as last year. all is fine here Lots of love MumXXX

Constantine Bay to Mawgan Porth

What a beautiful day its been. The morning started off overcast, but by the time we got going, caught the bus and arrived at Constantine Bay the sun was breaking through the clouds. From then on the weather was perfect for walking: sun (not to hot) and a constant breeze.  The weather made the views exceptional today. The photo's don't do it justice but the colour of the sea is amazing: so many different colour blues. Every bay (and there is many), has golden sand, abundance of space, rock pools (some large enough to use as a small swimming pool), and the sea is enticing (no dipping yet). Praa Sands to Gunwalloe: we had a cream tea

I'm a bit behind with my blog so this post relates to Wednesday.  It was a slow start to the day. By the time we showered, faffed around, found the farmer to pay for the campsite, faffed around some more, then made our way down to the bar in the bay (home and away) for breakfast it was quite late. After food and a bit more faffing around we started todays walk.  The coast path ambled along: gentle ascents and descents. We came across a mine used in the 1995 version of Poldark (see photo).  The weather was gorgeous ( a little hot and not enough breeze) i think we've all suffered from a bit too much sun; there isn't much shade on the path. We took our time, lots of stops to observe the view and drink water. When we made it to Porthleven (a sun trap), we had out first cream tea (see photo). It was lovely!
