A good third week
Other than today where rain and wind most definitely stops play (although this is technically the start of the 4th week). The third week has been really good: the weather, mileage, scenery and foot has all been in our favour.

The rest over the bank holiday weekend while Colin was in Southampton seems to have worked a treat on my foot. We have walked 6 out of the 7 days, path mileage is 53 miles, but fitbit mileage (includes to & from camp site, shopping etc...) records a total of 88.5miles. I'm pretty happy with that.
Today we have just driven from Newquay to St Ives in driving rain and wind. We're now settling into a new camp site, its small but seems ok. Hellesveor is about a mile up hill from St Ives (everything is up hill!). We will head down to collect Sarah off of the 5.30pm train: it might be a taxi back.
As i said yesterday, Sarah's arrival starts the next phase of my adventure, but based on the forecast for this week: rain and wind, i doubt whether there will be much progress before the weekend. Call me a diva but 'I ain't starting my camping phase in wind and rain'! Once i'm a seasond camper i'm sure it will be fine... not.
Just had the following text from Sarah:
'Train has hit a tree! on the line! (Not that I noticed...) train has to be safety checked so expect to miss connection at st erth and be late sorry! Will keep you informed. Stay put in your nice warm van til then. It seems that 'devastation' stalks us !!'
La 'devastation' refers to our last walking trip: 7 days in the Pyrenee's. Shortly before we arrived floods had washed away roads, houses etc... there was still snow over 2500m (normally unheard of that time of the year). Throughout the 7 days as well as la devastation poor Sarah had to put up with my constant winging, i went into overdrive and yes probably a touch of a diva. Sorry Sarah, i can't promise there won't be a bit of this over the next few weeks! I'm sure there will be more adventures to come.
Anyhow's three weeks gone and i'm still moving forward (apart from the days we're walking backwards). I'd like to say i'm half the person (in weight) i was when i first started, but i can't: i still have an over voluptuous figure! I do have a cracking suntan.
Here are some extra photo's from last week - there's even a few of me!
