A nothing much day.

Woke up late this morning which ruined the best made plans for a long day walking (plan A). This was followed by few more disappointments which effected plans B & C.  Let me explain: Firstly we both had a really bad night sleep, i don't think it was due to the heavy rain. I think i'm feeling a bit anxious about my physical abilities for the next five weeks and not wanting to let Sarah down (sarah joins me/us on Monday- overlap with Colin (and the beloved motorhome)by about a week). So at 3.30am i took a 'magic pill' (thanks to mum, my supplier), we both slept in until 9.30! It was still raining.  Secondly the handy bus stop outside the camp does not in fact pick up regulalry on the main bus service (disappointing) so waking late meant we had missed our slot for a few hours.  Thirdly (and plan B), instead of plan A (catching morning bus and walk back to Crantock Beach) we would start in Crantock and catch a bus back (evening services are regular'ish) from Perranp...

Newquay to Crantock Beach

Having completed the Padstow to Newquay section the next stretch is Newquay to St Ives. To enable us to be on a good bus route (getting to start and finish points), this morning we changed campsites. It was a slow start, and during the journey we took in the delights of Morrisons. We evetually arrived at out new site about lunch time, we travelled the great distance of about 5miles.  We're on 'Trevella' Park: a big site with statics, glamping and touring. Its a really nice park (free Wifi) and on a good bus route.  Its been glorious weather so as not to waste the day we decided to complete the short route  between Newquay and Crantock, this enables us to focus on some proper walking away from built up areas. I told Colin it would be a short circular walk: follow the coast path into Newquay and back to Crantock.
