Day 3: heavy rain stops play!

Heavy rain is forecast for the whole day. The clouds are so low we can't see beyond the campsite. We have therefore decided not to walk today. The low cloud yesterday meant we missed out on lovely views, don't want to do the same on this next stage: the highest point in the whole 630 mile path at the top of the Great Hangman.

    If it helps I'm off to Malaga tomorrow for a few days and it's 32° so I'll be soaked after swimming in the pool....good luck!!

    How is the weather now. Weather here is about the same, can't see beyond the campsite, mind you pretty ugly views here, so not missing much. Forecast looks a bit brighter for the next couple of day though. Keep on going, you'll get there.

      The rain stopped at about 4.30, it's beautiful here now. Looks like a glorious day tomorrow, so back to the footpath: looking at the map i think it will literally onwards and UPWARDS!

I'm a bit behind with my blog so this post relates to Wednesday.  It was a slow start to the day. By the time we showered, faffed around, found the farmer to pay for the campsite, faffed around some more, then made our way down to the bar in the bay (home and away) for breakfast it was quite late. After food and a bit more faffing around we started todays walk.  The coast path ambled along: gentle ascents and descents. We came across a mine used in the 1995 version of Poldark (see photo).  The weather was gorgeous ( a little hot and not enough breeze) i think we've all suffered from a bit too much sun; there isn't much shade on the path. We took our time, lots of stops to observe the view and drink water. When we made it to Porthleven (a sun trap), we had out first cream tea (see photo). It was lovely! Portscatho to Boswinger

This blog relates to Thursday.  Before starting i need to rectify Tuesdays blog,  we're staying at Portscatho: so the stage was between Falmouth and Portscatho. Wednesdays beach was Porthcurnick Beach. After so many Ports and Porths we've walked through, after a while they all start merging. Anyway back to Thursdays walk.  After the last few days of hot, hot weather we woke to cloud, breeze and a much reduced temperature: perfect for me.  We made an early start with the intention of stopping for breakfast at the 'Hidden Hut Cafe, beside Porthcurnick beach. Lovely setting shame they only cater for lunch and not breakfast - with little choice we were forced to eat cake, instead of the scrambled eggs i'd been preparing myself for!  The atmosphere today was very calm.
