A nothing much day.
Woke up late this morning which ruined the best made plans for a long day walking (plan A). This was followed by few more disappointments which effected plans B & C. Let me explain:
This is my usual view: Colin's back.
Firstly we both had a really bad night sleep, i don't think it was due to the heavy rain. I think i'm feeling a bit anxious about my physical abilities for the next five weeks and not wanting to let Sarah down (sarah joins me/us on Monday- overlap with Colin (and the beloved motorhome)by about a week). So at 3.30am i took a 'magic pill' (thanks to mum, my supplier), we both slept in until 9.30! It was still raining.
Secondly the handy bus stop outside the camp does not in fact pick up regulalry on the main bus service (disappointing) so waking late meant we had missed our slot for a few hours.
Thirdly (and plan B), instead of plan A (catching morning bus and walk back to Crantock Beach) we would start in Crantock and catch a bus back (evening services are regular'ish) from Perranporth or St Agnes. So we had lunch and about 2'ish set off to Crantock where we would start the days walk. Rather than walk along the road into Crantock we decided to take the public footpath: after about a mile we found it blocked, so turned back to take another path. By this time i was fed up (i get disillusioned quickly) and concerened that by the time we got to the start point we would not finish the days walk again until very late (i was fed up).
Fourthly (and plan C), we could walk to Crantock village, wait for the 16.30 bus to Hollywell and walk the 4/5 miles back. By this time Colin was disillusioned.
We walked back to the campsite to read our books: it rained.
The positive thing from today was that i walked a couple of miles in my walking boots: it took a few different ways before i eventually found a comfortable way of lacing them (thanks to Colin) without causing my extensor tendon too much discomfort. A good result for future walking.
Just a note: no sooner are you ridden of work anxieties, than they are replaced by other anxieties. I'm not sure what the message is other than Life is one big anxiety or the grass is not greener on the other side or...
Fitbit records: 10,127 steps, 4.5 miles and 36 steps.
Photo's - not many so i've added a few others taken along the way of my love:
